Why Mana Futures?

We're not preparing young people for a destination.

We’re preparing them to navigate whatever comes next.

Every year, thousands of rangatahi leave school and step into very different worlds. Some head to university. Some take a scholarship overseas or move cities. Some chase professional sport. Some take a gap year and a first OE. And some leave with no clear pathway at all.

In 2025, about one in seven New Zealand school leavers, 10,473 young people, left school with no NCEA qualification. By the end of 2025, over 80,000 young people aged 15–24 were not in employment, education or training (NEETs).

Whichever way they go, the leap is enormous. Most are prepared for the opportunity. Not all are equipped for the life that comes with it: new places, new pressure, money, and distance from the people who know them best.
